Requirement


The main function of the database was to produce the monthly report - a 20 page document that was done in Excel, each page containing 6 graphs which had to be created manually each month.

Functionality

  • A system was built to keep track of all chemical inventory as well as purchases and sales.
     
  • The report process was automated using a custom "report wizard" which enabled the user to step through the process of creating the monthly report. Five user forms made up this wizard process which in turn created the required 20 page monthly report containing the statistical information required. The graphs required in this report were automatically generated by the system. This function saved the company as least one week of man hours per month.
     
 

Outcome


The system was built over 3 months and tested over a 2 month period. Changes were made as required as the client requested additional functionality.
